Community Theatre Group

The problem:

The Electric Sunshine Project is a collective that creates high-quality workshops, events, projects and performances, primarily produced in Blackpool. It's aim is to seek and engage with those who are least connected to the arts. They required an aesthetic that didn't shout about the Blackpool you might know about; funfairs, donkey rides and kiss-me-quick hats.

The solution:

First off, we needed to find a narrative towards Blackpool without drawing on the usual clichés. After some exploration, we hit on the idea of trying to combine two main factors of the group; theatre and home; this gave us our creative direction. Combining elements  (rock - spotlight - circus) and adding a directional twist gave us a brand device that bares its roots without going full-tilt.
